The Kusasa Stars

The Kusasa Stars was one of 11 clubs from South Africa that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Boys 13. In addition to The Kusasa Stars, 137 other teams from 25 different countries played in Boys 13. They were divided into 34 different groups, whereof The Kusasa Stars could be found in Group 22 together with SC Unterzeil-Reichenhofen, IFK Borgholm and Ytterby IS. The Kusasa Stars continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 22. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Halmstads BK with 0-6. In the Final, IF Brommapojkarna won over Dallas Texans Soccer Club and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 13. The Kusasa Stars comes from `Franschhoek which lies approximately 1000 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around `Franschhoek does also provide three additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Eton College, St Joseph's Youth 88 FC and Windsor FC).
