Markaryds IF

Markaryds IF was one of 427 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Boys 12. In addition to Markaryds IF, 168 other teams from 35 different countries played in Boys 12. They were divided into 41 different groups, whereof Markaryds IF could be found in Group 8 together with Specifique FA Tunisia 1, Walddörfer SV 2 and IK Zenith 1. Markaryds IF continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 8. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Azalea BK 1 with 3-4. In the Final, Phoenix Football Academy won over Upsala IF 1 and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 12. Markaryds comes from Markaryd which lies approximately 170 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Markaryd does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (IFK Osby, Älmhults IF, Broby IF, FC Hessleholm, Hässleholms IF and Vittsjö GIK).
