FK Varden

FK Varden was one of 56 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to FK Varden, 97 other teams from 13 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof FK Varden could be found in Group 1 together with Benfica, Linköping Kenty DFF 1 and Boo FF. FK Varden continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Stord Fotball with 0-2. In the Final, Dösjöbro/Vellinge won over Stord Fotball and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 16. FK Varden comes from Finnsnes which lies approximately 1300 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than FK Varden, the club Finnsnes IL Fotball does also originate from the area around Finnsnes.
