Smedby AIS

Smedby AIS was one of 427 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Smedby AIS, 117 other teams from 11 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 29 different groups, whereof Smedby AIS could be found in Group 16 together with Nässjö FF, Bergnäsets AIK and SK Haugar. Smedby AIS continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 16. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Dallas Texans Soccer Club with 0-6. In the Final, Hammarby IF FF won over Lerums IS and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 15. Smedby AIS comes from Norrköping which lies approximately 270 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Norrköping does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Svärtinge SK, Lindö FF Norrköping, IFK Norrköping, Mariestads BK, Linghems SK/Tallboda IF and Linghem/Örtomta).
