Vänersborgs IF

Vänersborgs IF was one of 427 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Boys 15. In addition to Vänersborgs IF, 195 other teams from 39 different countries played in Boys 15. They were divided into 48 different groups, whereof Vänersborgs IF could be found in Group 13 together with Älvsborg FF, Chico Sporting Club and Belgica 2. Vänersborgs IF continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 13. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Stars'n Stripes with 0-2. In the Final, FC Chambly won over Glumslövs FF and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 15. Vänersborgs comes from Vänersborg which lies approximately 72 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vänersborg does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Vänersborgs FK, Halvorstorps IS/Trollhättans FK, Groheds IF/Ljungskile SK, Melleruds IF, Trollhättans FK and IFK Uddevalla).
