Vänersborgs FK

Vänersborgs FK was one of 427 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Vänersborgs FK, 97 other teams from 13 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof Vänersborgs FK could be found in Group 23 together with Asarums IF/FK, Rapid Athene / Kambo IL 1 and Hyllie IK. Vänersborgs FK continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 23. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against SKF Ghana with 0-2. In the Final, Tiller 1 won over Valur and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 16. Vänersborgs FK comes from Vänersborg which lies approximately 73 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vänersborg does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Vänersborgs IF, Halvorstorps IS/Trollhättans FK, Groheds IF/Ljungskile SK, Melleruds IF, Trollhättans FK and IFK Uddevalla).
