The Rainbow Team

The Rainbow Team was one of 11 clubs from South Africa that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to The Rainbow Team, 187 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 46 different groups, whereof The Rainbow Team could be found in Group 26 together with Torslanda IK 2, ED Moratalaz and Bälinge IF. The Rainbow Team continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 26. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against AFC Eskilstuna with 6-7. In the Final, Ryerson SC West won over PLAYR Academy and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 16. The Rainbow Team also participated in Boys 15 during Gothia Cup 2017. They reached the 1/8 Final in B15 Play off A, but lost it against Dallas Texans with 1-2. The Rainbow Team comes from Camps Bay which lies approximately 10000 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Camps Bay does also provide three additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Tramway FC, Milano United Football Club and Project Playground FC).
