Älvängens IK

Älvängens IK was one of 427 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2018. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Älvängens IK, 117 other teams from 11 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 29 different groups, whereof Älvängens IK could be found in Group 14 together with Skara FC, Nordhordland BK 2, Tullinge TP and Dallas Texans Soccer Club. Älvängens IK continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 14. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Husie IF with 1-3. In the Final, Hammarby IF FF won over Lerums IS and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 15. Älvängens comes from Älvängen which lies approximately 26 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Älvängen does also provide 65 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2018 (Among others: IK Zenith, Alingsås IF, Kareby/Kode, Kållered SK, Askims IK, Ytterby IS, Lunden-Överås BK, V. Frölunda IF, Jitex Mölndal BK and Lekstorps IF).
