Alvesta GIF

Alvesta GIF was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 14. In addition to Alvesta GIF, 98 other teams from 6 different countries played in Girls 14. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof Alvesta GIF could be found in Group 20 together with Iggesunds IK, Älvsjö AIK FF Vit and Lillestrøm SK. Alvesta GIF continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 20. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Piteå IF with 0-1. In the Final, Austin Lonestars won over Skogås/Trångsunds FF and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 14. Alvesta GIF comes from Alvesta which lies approximately 180 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Alvesta does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Räppe GoIF, Virestad IF, Ljungby IF, Sandsbro AIK, Växjö DFF, Växjö BK and Gransholms IF).
