IFK Kalmar

IFK Kalmar was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to IFK Kalmar, 77 other teams from 16 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof IFK Kalmar could be found in Group 11 together with Fc Franconville PB, Hipica Campinas, Vaksala SK and Etne IL. IFK Kalmar continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 11. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Tölö IF with 0-2. In the Final, Borgeby FK won over Gasteizko Neskak and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 16. IFK Kalmar comes from Kalmar which lies approximately 290 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Kalmar does also provide five additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (TUFF, Färjestadens GoIF, Kalmar FF, IF Pluss Köping and Lindsdals IF).
