Club España

Club España was one of 11 clubs from Mexico that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Club España, 77 other teams from 15 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Club España could be found in Group 10 together with Tölö IF, Lillehammer KFK and Västerås BK30. Club España continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 10. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Ploërmel FC with 0-2. In the Final, FC Djursholm won over Greve Fodbold and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 16. España comes from Mexico which lies approximately 9400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Mexico does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Goal Girls, CA Intercups Mexico, A.S. México, CLUB REFORMA, Sherwood and Academy Elite).
