Vellinge IF

Vellinge IF was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Vellinge IF, 77 other teams from 16 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Vellinge IF could be found in Group 5 together with CCL Soccer Club, Azalea BK, Ploërmel FC and Eskilstuna United DFF 1. Vellinge IF continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Eskilstuna United DFF 2 with 0-1. In the Final, Borgeby FK won over Gasteizko Neskak and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 16. Vellinge comes from Vellinge which lies approximately 270 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vellinge does also provide 22 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: BK Flagg, IFK Klagshamn, FC Bellevue, BK Höllviken, V. Ingelstad IS, Kvarnby IK, FIFH, Skanör-Falsterbo IF, Uppåkra IF and FC Staffanstorp).
