IFK Viksjö was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to IFK Viksjö, 179 other teams from 34 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 44 different groups, whereof IFK Viksjö could be found in Group 9 together with Pro Direct Soccer Academy, Barry Comprehensive School and CD Inter Vista Alegre. IFK Viksjö continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 9. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against IK Zenith with 0-3. In the Final, Phoenix Football Academy won over IK Zenith and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 16. IFK Viksjö also participated in Boys 15 during Gothia Cup 2016. They reached the 1/32 Final in B15 Play off B, but lost it against Storfors AIK with 1-2. IFK Viksjö comes from Järfälla which lies approximately 390 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Järfälla does also provide 58 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: Hanvikens SK, Enskede IK, Hammarby IF FF, Bollstanäs SK, Danderyds SK, Älta IF, Enebybergs IF, Ekerö IK, Huddinge IF and Essinge IK).
