Västanfors IF

Västanfors IF was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Västanfors IF, 77 other teams from 16 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Västanfors IF could be found in Group 16 together with Jitex Mölndal BK, BV Werther, Torsåkers IF and Wizard FC. Västanfors IF continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 16. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against KL Youth Soccer with 5-6. In the Final, FC Djursholm won over Greve Fodbold and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 16. Västanfors IF also participated in Girls 15 during Gothia Cup 2016. They reached the 1/8 Final in G15 Play off B, but lost it against Assyriska FF with 1-2. Västanfors comes from Fagersta which lies approximately 340 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Fagersta does also provide four additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Skinnskattebergs SK, Östansbo IS, Ludvika FK and Fagersta Södra IK).
