Skonto FC

Skonto FC was one of four clubs from Latvia that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17). In addition to Skonto FC, 36 other teams from 13 different countries played in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17). They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Skonto FC could be found in Group 4 together with BK Häcken, IF Elfsborg and Orsomarso FC. Skonto FC continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Örebro SK with 0-3. In the Final, Djurgårdens IF won over Jönköpings Södra IF and became the winner of Play off B in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17). Skonto FC also participated in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (B17) during Gothia Cup 2016. They reached the 1/4 Final in B17E Play off A, but lost it against IF Elfsborg with 0-3. Skonto FC comes from E.Melngaila 1a, Riga, LV-1010 which lies approximately 730 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around E.Melngaila 1a, Riga, LV-1010 does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (JDFS Alberts and Metta FK).
