IL Vestbyen

IL Vestbyen was one of 59 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 18. In addition to IL Vestbyen, 61 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 18. They were divided into 15 different groups, whereof IL Vestbyen could be found in Group 2 together with Villastadens IF, Landvetter IF 1 and FC Connecticut. IL Vestbyen continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Fløya IF with 3-4. In the Final, Enskede IK won over Alemannia Aachen and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 18. Vestbyen comes from Trondheim which lies approximately 640 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Trondheim does also provide three additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Gauldal Fotballklubb, Nidelv IL and Gimse IL).
