The Westgate School was one of 32 clubs from England that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Boys 15. In addition to The Westgate School, 203 other teams from 30 different countries played in Boys 15. They were divided into 50 different groups, whereof The Westgate School could be found in Group 7 together with IFK Uddevalla, Stångebro United and Orleta Radzyn. The Westgate School continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 7. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Pro Direct Soccer Academy with 0-6. In the Final, Gerdskens BK won over Eskilstuna City FK and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 15. The Westgate School comes from Slough which lies approximately 1100 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Slough does also provide 14 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: St Johns School, Hampton FC, Prep School Lions, Guildford County School, Fleet Spurs Youth FC, European Football Academy, Carpe Diem FC, Phoenix Football Academy, Mindset FC and Charterhouse School).
