Runar, IL

Runar, IL was one of 59 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Runar, IL, 77 other teams from 16 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 18 different groups, whereof Runar, IL could be found in Group 18 together with Swindon Town FITC, Östansbo IS and Rödeby AIF. Runar, IL continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 18. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against FC Staffanstorp with 1-3. In the Final, Borgeby FK won over Gasteizko Neskak and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 16. Runar, comes from Sandefjord which lies approximately 190 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Sandefjord does also provide four additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Hei IL, Stridsklev IL, Sandefjord BK and Sandar IL).
