Markaryds IF

Markaryds IF was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Boys 12. In addition to Markaryds IF, 173 other teams from 37 different countries played in Boys 12. They were divided into 42 different groups, whereof Markaryds IF could be found in Group 10 together with JSG Baden/Etelsen 2, Currie Star FC 1 and IF Väster 1. Markaryds IF continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 10. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Pershagens SK with 0-3. In the Final, Lizzy Football Club won over SC Nienstedten and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 12. Markaryds comes from Markaryd which lies approximately 170 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Markaryd does also provide 9 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (IFK Osby, Wisseltofta IF, IFK Hässleholm, Råstorp/Timsfors IF, Älmhults IF, FC Hessleholm, Laholms FK, Vittsjö GIK and Hässleholms IF).
