Vänersborgs FK

Vänersborgs FK was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Vänersborgs FK, 179 other teams from 34 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 44 different groups, whereof Vänersborgs FK could be found in Group 26 together with Trosa-Vagnhärad SK, InterClubes and SuS Kaiserau. Vänersborgs FK continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 26. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against BV Werther with 5-7. In the Final, Phoenix Football Academy won over IK Zenith and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 16. Vänersborgs FK comes from Vänersborg which lies approximately 65 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vänersborg does also provide 9 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (IK Oddevold, Arentorp Helås FK, Rössö, IK, Vänersborgs IF, Skoftebyns IF, Halvorstorps IS, Stenungsunds IF, IFK Uddevalla and Trollhättans FK).
