Åsa IF

Åsa IF was one of 421 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2017. They participated with one team in Girls 13. In addition to Åsa IF, 45 other teams from 6 different countries played in Girls 13. They were divided into 11 different groups, whereof Åsa IF could be found in Group 3 together with AIK FF F04A, IFK Nyköping and FC Connecticut. Åsa IF continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Sunnersta AIF with 0-2. In the Final, Sunnersta AIF won over Ylämyllyn Yllätys and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 13. Åsa IF also participated in Girls 12 during Gothia Cup 2016. They reached the final in Play off B, but lost it against Askims IK with 0-1 and ended up in second place. Åsa comes from Åsa which lies approximately 44 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Åsa does also provide 33 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2017 (Among others: Kungsbacka DFF, Guldhedens IK, Hovås-Billdal IF, Kållered SK, Mölndal Fotboll, Särö IK, HUS, Solängens BK, IFK Örby and Onsala BK).
