Academy Elite

Academy Elite was one of 9 clubs from Mexico that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 15. In addition to Academy Elite, 224 other teams from 34 different countries played in Boys 15. They were divided into 55 different groups, whereof Academy Elite could be found in Group 28 together with Eskilstuna City FK 2, Hvetlanda GIF and IL Jotun. Academy Elite continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 28. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Prep School Lions with 0-1. In the Final, ASIOP Apacinti won over IF Elfsborg and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 15. Academy Elite comes from MEXICO which lies approximately 9400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around MEXICO does also provide four additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Club Paris Mexico, A.S. México, La Herradura AC and CA Intercups Mexico).
