Shimizu S-Pulse

Shimizu S-Pulse was one of two clubs from Japan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Shimizu S-Pulse, 186 other teams from 37 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 46 different groups, whereof Shimizu S-Pulse could be found in Group 2 together with Assega Sports Academy, Hönö IS/B and Södra Sandby IF. Shimizu S-Pulse continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against SC Victoria with 4-6. In the Final, Las Vegas Sports Academy won over ED Moratalaz and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 16. Shimizu S-Pulse comes from Shizuoka which lies approximately 8600 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place.
