Alvesta GIF

Alvesta GIF was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Alvesta GIF, 115 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 28 different groups, whereof Alvesta GIF could be found in Group 2 together with Andromeda SC, IF Brommapojkarna and Västanfors IF. Alvesta GIF continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Santa Monica United with 0-5. In the Final, Santa Monica United won over KFV Segeberg and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 15. Alvesta GIF also participated in Girls 14 during Gothia Cup 2015. They reached the 1/8 Final in G14 Play off B, but lost it against Borens IK with 0-5. Alvesta GIF comes from Alvesta which lies approximately 180 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Alvesta does also provide five additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Ingelstad IK, Sandsbro AIK, Växjö DFF, Växjö Norra IF and Växjö BK).
