FC Rosengård was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (G17). In addition to FC Rosengård, 15 other teams from 7 different countries played in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (G17). They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof FC Rosengård could be found in Group 2 together with Gasteizko Neskak, Sunnanå SK and Vantaan Jalkapalloseura. FC Rosengård continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Eskilstuna United DFF with 0-2. In the Final, QBIK won over Eskilstuna United DFF and became the winner of Play off A in Gothia Tipselit Trophy (G17). FC Rosengård comes from Malmö which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Malmö does also provide 29 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Among others: Södra Sandby IF, BK Höllviken, Staffanstorps GIF, LB07, Hyllie IK, Furulunds IK, FC Staffanstorp, Lilla Torg FF, Lunds BK and IF Lödde).
