Åsane IL

Åsane IL was one of 42 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Åsane IL, 186 other teams from 38 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 46 different groups, whereof Åsane IL could be found in Group 37 together with Väderstad IK, Limmared/Länghem IF/Grimsås and Saanich Fusion FC. Åsane IL continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 37. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Örgryte IS with 1-2. In the Final, Las Vegas Sports Academy won over ED Moratalaz and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 16. Åsane IL also participated in Boys 15 during Gothia Cup 2015. They reached the 1/4 Final in B15 Play off A, but lost it against CEF 18 Tucuman 1 with 2-4. Åsane comes from Bergen which lies approximately 470 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place.
