Norrstrands IF

Norrstrands IF was one of 468 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Girls 16. In addition to Norrstrands IF, 80 other teams from 13 different countries played in Girls 16. They were divided into 20 different groups, whereof Norrstrands IF could be found in Group 11 together with Djurgårdens IF, Rockets FC and Tölö IF. Norrstrands IF made it to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 11. Once in the playoff they made it all the way to the Final, but lost it against Tromsø IL with 1-2. Thereby Norrstrands IF finished second in G16 Play off B during Gothia Cup 2016. Norrstrands comes from Karlstad which lies approximately 210 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Karlstad does also provide five additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (FBK Karlstad, Villastadens IF, QBIK, Hertzöga BK and Idrottsklubben Carlstad).
