Atlas Lions

Atlas Lions was one of five clubs from Morocco that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Atlas Lions, 98 other teams from 30 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 24 different groups, whereof Atlas Lions could be found in Group 6 together with FC Atromitos Halandriou, V. Frölunda IF and Tenhults IF. Atlas Lions continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Bankeryds SK with 0-1. In the Final, BK Häcken won over JFV Hanse Lübeck and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 18. Atlas Lions comes from RABAT which lies approximately 3000 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Atlas Lions, the club AS Itrane does also originate from the area around RABAT.
