Academy of Baghdad

Academy of Baghdad was one of five clubs from Jordan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2016. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Academy of Baghdad, 186 other teams from 37 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 46 different groups, whereof Academy of Baghdad could be found in Group 16 together with Vallens IF, ED Moratalaz and IF Brommapojkarna. Academy of Baghdad continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 16. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Karlbergs BK with 0-2. In the Final, Cayyolu FC won over Hong Kong FC and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 16. Academy of Baghdad comes from Amman which lies approximately 3400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Amman does also provide four additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2016 (Jordan Knights FA, Al-Ahli SC, FISA Jordan and Aspire Jordan FC).
