Alvesta GIF

Alvesta GIF was one of 452 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2015. They participated with one team in Girls 14. In addition to Alvesta GIF, 109 other teams from 9 different countries played in Girls 14. They were divided into 27 different groups, whereof Alvesta GIF could be found in Group 20 together with Öckerö IF, SG Lieth Holsatia and Ingarö IF. Alvesta GIF continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 20. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Borens IK with 0-5. In the Final, IFK Umeå won over FC Hessleholm and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 14. Alvesta GIF comes from Alvesta which lies approximately 180 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Alvesta does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2015 (Ljungby IF, Sandsbro AIK, Gransholm/Vederslöv/Dänningelanda IF, Lagans AIK, Växjö DFF and Grolanda IF/Floby IF).
