Årsunda IF

Årsunda IF was one of 452 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2015. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to Årsunda IF, 187 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 46 different groups, whereof Årsunda IF could be found in Group 10 together with Samba Soccer Club, FC Preußen Espelkamp 1 and Grolanda IF/Floby IF. Årsunda IF continued to Play off A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 10. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against So Cal FC with 0-1. In the Final, Tokyo Verdy won over IF FF Hammarby and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 16. Årsunda IF also participated in Boys 15 during Gothia Cup 2014. They reached the 1/16 Final in B15 Play off A, but lost it against Colegio São João de Brito 1 with 4-6. Årsunda comes from Sandviken which lies approximately 410 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Sandviken does also provide five additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2015 (Sandvikens IF, Gefle IF, Sandvikens AIK, Brynäs IF/FK and Gävle GIK/FK).
