Åhus IF

Åhus IF was one of 452 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2015. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to Åhus IF, 117 other teams from 14 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 29 different groups, whereof Åhus IF could be found in Group 1 together with Djurgårdens IF, Åre SLK and Walddörfer SV. Åhus IF continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Chelsea FC with 1-3. In the Final, IFK Västerås FK won over Tölö IF and became the winner of Play off A in Girls 15. Åhus comes from Kristianstad which lies approximately 250 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Kristianstad does also provide 8 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2015 (Hjärsås/Värestorp IF/VMA IK, Åhus HBK, Kristianstad BoIS, Nosaby IF, Kristianstads DFF, Mjällby AIF, Ifö Bromölla IF and IFK Knislinge/Broby IF).
