Älvängens IK

Älvängens IK was one of 452 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2015. They participated with one team in Girls 12. In addition to Älvängens IK, 44 other teams from 9 different countries played in Girls 12. They were divided into 11 different groups, whereof Älvängens IK could be found in Group 3 together with Azalea BK 1, JSSL Arsenal Singapore and Boo FF. Älvängens IK continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against Borgeby FK 1 with 1-2. In the Final, FC Connecticut won over Borgeby FK 1 and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 12. Älvängens comes from Älvängen which lies approximately 25 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Älvängen does also provide 72 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2015 (Among others: Balltorps/KSK, Holmalunds IF, Älvsborg FF, Mossens BK, Näsets SK/Utsikten, Näsets SK, Finlandia-Pallo AIF, Sävedalens IF, Vallens IF and Dalen/KFF).
