Academy of Baghdad was one of two clubs from Jordan that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2014. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Academy of Baghdad, 115 other teams from 29 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 28 different groups, whereof Academy of Baghdad could be found in Group 4 together with Tromsø IL, Project Playground FC and Södertälje, FK. Academy of Baghdad continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Bend Senior High School with 4-5. In the Final, Kinetic Academy 1 won over F.C. Beirut 2 and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 18. Academy of Baghdad comes from Amman which lies approximately 3400 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Academy of Baghdad, the club Jordan Knights FA does also originate from the area around Amman.
