Markaryds IF

Markaryds IF was one of 420 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2014. They participated with one team in Boys 12. In addition to Markaryds IF, 162 other teams from 31 different countries played in Boys 12. They were divided into 40 different groups, whereof Markaryds IF could be found in Group 1 together with Lørenskog IF 1, Colégio Guadalupe and GAIS. Markaryds IF continued to Play off B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Guadalajara Seals with 0-2. In the Final, Olympiacos FC won over Chungmu and became the winner of Play off B in Boys 12. Markaryds comes from Markaryd which lies approximately 170 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Markaryd does also provide six additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2014 (Tyringe IF, Farstorps GOIF/Hästveda IF, Vittsjö GIK, Hässleholms IF, IFK Osby and Älmhults IF).
