Åby IF

Åby IF was one of 420 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2014. They participated with one team in Girls 14. In addition to Åby IF, 93 other teams from 8 different countries played in Girls 14. They were divided into 23 different groups, whereof Åby IF could be found in Group 15 together with Walddörfer SV, IFK Lidingö and Sävar IK. Åby IF continued to Play off B after reaching 4:th place in Group 15. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Håbo FF Svart with 1-2. In the Final, Järla IF won over Scandia United SA and became the winner of Play off B in Girls 14. Åby comes from Norrköping which lies approximately 270 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Norrköping does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2014 (Katrineholms AIK, DFK Värmbol, Lindö FF Norrköping, Norrköping, IFK, IFK Norrköping DFK, IFK Norrköping EBK and Värmbols FC).
