Sortland IL

Sortland IL was one of 51 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2014. They participated with one team in Boys 12. In addition to Sortland IL, 162 other teams from 31 different countries played in Boys 12. They were divided into 40 different groups, whereof Sortland IL could be found in Group 25 together with IF Brommapojkarna Ålsten, Vallens IF, Varbergs GIF FK 1 and Utpal Shanghvi School. Sortland IL continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 25. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against IF Elfsborg with 1-2. In the Final, IFK Stocksund Blå won over Florø SK 1 and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 12. Sortland comes from Myrveien 7 which lies approximately 230 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Myrveien 7 does also provide 15 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2014 (Among others: Vestre Akers SK, Holmen IF, Lørenskog IF, Skedsmo, Oppsal IF, SK Sprint-Jeløy, Nittedal IL, Lillestrøm SK, Høybråten/Stovner IL and Strømmen IF).
