IFK Mariestad

IFK Mariestad was one of 395 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2013. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to IFK Mariestad, 134 other teams from 27 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 33 different groups, whereof IFK Mariestad could be found in Group 16 together with FC Neumünster Zürich, Skjetten SK and Stars'n Stripes. IFK Mariestad continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 16. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Tuil with 5-6. In the Final, Kampala Junior Team won over GAIS and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 18. IFK Mariestad also participated in Boys 18 during Gothia Cup 2012. They reached the 1/8 Final in B18 Slutspel A, but lost it against Lärje/Angered IF with 0-1. IFK Mariestad comes from Mariestad which lies approximately 150 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Mariestad does also provide four additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2013 (Götene IF, Mariestads BK, Sils IF and Johannesbergs LIF).
