Sandviks IK

Sandviks IK was one of 395 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2013. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Sandviks IK, 134 other teams from 27 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 33 different groups, whereof Sandviks IK could be found in Group 13 together with Club Municipal de Casablanca, Partille IF and Halstenbek-Rellingen SV 1. Sandviks IK continued to Play off A after reaching 1:st place in Group 13. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Stord Fotball with 0-2. In the Final, Kampala Junior Team won over GAIS and became the winner of Play off A in Boys 18. Sandviks IK also participated in Boys 18 during Gothia Cup 2012. They reached the 1/16 Final in B18 Slutspel A, but lost it against Verdal IL with 0-1. Sandviks comes from Holmsund which lies approximately 810 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Holmsund does also provide 10 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2013 (Umedalens IF, Ersmarks IK, Hörnefors IF, Mariehem SK, IFK Umeå, Sörfors IF, Sandåkerns Sörfors SK, Tegs SK, Umeå Södra FF and Gimonäs Umeå IF).
