Zacatecas Independiente

Zacatecas Independiente was one of 12 clubs from Mexico that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Zacatecas Independiente, 147 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 36 different groups, whereof Zacatecas Independiente could be found in Group 7 together with SG Borken e.V., Ambjörnarp/Uddebo FF and Syria/Kamishly. Zacatecas Independiente continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 7. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Täby IS with 2-4. In the Final, Fässbergs IF won over Fyllingsdalen FK and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 18. Zacatecas Independiente comes from Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes which lies approximately 9300 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place.
