IFK Mariestad

IFK Mariestad was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to IFK Mariestad, 147 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 36 different groups, whereof IFK Mariestad could be found in Group 9 together with KL Youth Soccer, SV Rugenbergen and U.D. La Mosca. IFK Mariestad continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 9. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Lärje/Angered IF with 0-1. In the Final, Fässbergs IF won over Fyllingsdalen FK and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 18. IFK Mariestad comes from Mariestad which lies approximately 150 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Mariestad does also provide five additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Tidan IF, Johannesbergs LIF, Mariestads BK, Varnhems IF and Mariestads BOIS FF).
