Smedby AIS

Smedby AIS was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Girls 19. In addition to Smedby AIS, 32 other teams from 8 different countries played in Girls 19. They were divided into 8 different groups, whereof Smedby AIS could be found in Group 4 together with PSV Sydsjaelland, Balltorps FF and Karlskrona FF. Smedby AIS continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against AIK FF with 0-1. In the Final, AIK FF won over Karlskrona FF and became the winner of Slutspel A in Girls 19. Smedby AIS comes from Norrköping which lies approximately 260 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Norrköping does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Söderköping IK, Lindö FF Norrköping, IFK Wreta Kloster, BK Derby, Norrköping City DFF, Linköping Kenty DFF and Gottfridsberg, LBK).
