IFK Umeå

IFK Umeå was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Girls 15. In addition to IFK Umeå, 110 other teams from 12 different countries played in Girls 15. They were divided into 27 different groups, whereof IFK Umeå could be found in Group 3 together with Roanoke Stars, Eskilstuna United DFF and Kristinebergs FF. IFK Umeå continued to Slutspel B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Skara FC with 0-1. In the Final, Kristianstad DFF won over Skara FC and became the winner of Slutspel B in Girls 15. IFK Umeå comes from Umeå which lies approximately 810 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Umeå does also provide 13 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Among others: Gimonäs Umeå IF, Hörnefors IF, Ersboda SK, IFK Holmsund/Sandviks IK, Tegs SK, IFK Umeå/Mariehem, Sävar IK, Sörfors IF, Sandåkerns SK and Mariehem SK).
