Stjarnan

Stjarnan was one of 9 clubs from Iceland that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 14. In addition to Stjarnan, 204 other teams from 26 different countries played in Boys 14. They were divided into 51 different groups, whereof Stjarnan could be found in Group 43 together with Älmhults IF, Nyborgs SK and Oppsal IF 2. Stjarnan continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 43. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Club Aba Sport with 1-2. In the Final, Chivas Guadalajara won over Fyllingsdalen FK 1 and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 14. Stjarnan comes from 104 Reykjavik which lies approximately 1900 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around 104 Reykjavik does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (FH, Fjolnir, IBV, Snaefellsbaer, Vikingur, HK and Leiknir).
