Melleruds IF

Melleruds IF was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 14. In addition to Melleruds IF, 204 other teams from 26 different countries played in Boys 14. They were divided into 51 different groups, whereof Melleruds IF could be found in Group 12 together with Fagersta Södra IK, Kenkre FC and Skanör-Falsterbo IF. Melleruds IF continued to Slutspel A after reaching 1:st place in Group 12. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Paulista, AC with 0-2. In the Final, Chivas Guadalajara won over Fyllingsdalen FK 1 and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 14. Melleruds comes from Mellerud which lies approximately 110 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Melleruds IF, the club IF Änglarna does also originate from the area around Mellerud.
