Encinitas Express

Encinitas Express was one of 30 clubs from USA that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 15. In addition to Encinitas Express, 233 other teams from 42 different countries played in Boys 15. They were divided into 57 different groups, whereof Encinitas Express could be found in Group 3 together with Lobatos Foot, Panevezys FM 1 and Gideonsbergs IF 1. Encinitas Express continued to Slutspel B after reaching 4:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against TSV Bassum eV with 0-4. In the Final, Staffanstorps GIF won over First Touch FC and became the winner of Slutspel B in Boys 15. Encinitas Express comes from San Diego which lies approximately 8900 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. Other than Encinitas Express, the club San Diego Football Academy does also originate from the area around San Diego.
