IL Vestbyen

IL Vestbyen was one of 53 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 16. In addition to IL Vestbyen, 188 other teams from 34 different countries played in Boys 16. They were divided into 47 different groups, whereof IL Vestbyen could be found in Group 45 together with Athletic FC 1, FK Cementarnica 55 and FC Viktoria Heiden. IL Vestbyen continued to Slutspel B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 45. In the playoff they made it to 1/32 Final, but lost it against Kattem IL with 0-1. In the Final, InterClubes won over FBK Karlstad and became the winner of Slutspel B in Boys 16. Vestbyen comes from 7019 Trondheim which lies approximately 640 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around 7019 Trondheim does also provide two additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Buvik and Kattem IL).
