Spölands IF

Spölands IF was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 15. In addition to Spölands IF, 233 other teams from 42 different countries played in Boys 15. They were divided into 57 different groups, whereof Spölands IF could be found in Group 44 together with SC Borgfeld eV 2, FK Kosmet and Vasalunds IF 1. Spölands IF continued to Slutspel B after reaching 4:th place in Group 44. In the playoff they made it to 1/64 Final, but lost it against Rapid Bukarest with 1-2. In the Final, Staffanstorps GIF won over First Touch FC and became the winner of Slutspel B in Boys 15. Spölands comes from Vännäs which lies approximately 810 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Vännäs does also provide 13 additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Among others: Gimonäs Umeå IF, Hörnefors IF, Ersboda SK, IFK Holmsund/Sandviks IK, Tegs SK, IFK Umeå/Mariehem, Sävar IK, Sörfors IF, Sandåkerns SK and Mariehem SK).
