Högbo AIK was one of 417 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 13. In addition to Högbo AIK, 126 other teams from 33 different countries played in Boys 13. They were divided into 31 different groups, whereof Högbo AIK could be found in Group 7 together with Kecskeméti T.E., FC Järfälla and Beijing Aoxiang. Högbo AIK continued to Slutspel B after reaching 3:rd place in Group 7. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Djurgårdens IF with 1-4. In the Final, Tynecastle Football Club 1 won over JäPS and became the winner of Slutspel B in Boys 13. Högbo AIK comes from Sandviken which lies approximately 430 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around Sandviken does also provide three additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Hagaströms SK, Stensätra IF and Valbo FF).
