Clube Olímpico do Montijo

Clube Olímpico do Montijo was one of 9 clubs from Portugal that had teams playing during Gothia Cup 2012. They participated with one team in Boys 18. In addition to Clube Olímpico do Montijo, 147 other teams from 32 different countries played in Boys 18. They were divided into 36 different groups, whereof Clube Olímpico do Montijo could be found in Group 1 together with ISA Italia, Schweriner SC and Täby IS. Clube Olímpico do Montijo continued to Slutspel A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Fässbergs IF with 0-5. In the Final, Fässbergs IF won over Fyllingsdalen FK and became the winner of Slutspel A in Boys 18. Clube Olímpico do Montijo comes from 2890 Alcochete which lies approximately 2600 km from Göteborg, where Gothia Cup takes place. The area around 2890 Alcochete does also provide five additional clubs participating during Gothia Cup 2012 (Lobatos Foot, Almada Atlético Clube, União Atletico Povoense, Grupo Sportivo de Loures and ACD Granja Nova e Casal da Cruz).
